Who we are
Ann
Health, wellness, music and nature have always been areas of passion and purpose for me.
With a BA in Complementary and Alternative Health, natural & alternative methods of wellness are at the forefront of both my personal and professional lives. I have been a massage therapist for almost 20 years, assisting my clients on a path of wellness through bodywork and movement. I absolutely love the outdoors. Hiking and being in nature are two things that make me feel free. I’m the mother of two and have a wonderful husband who I love to spend time with. We have a dog named Rio and she likes to go everywhere with me! Playing guitar and singing are also big passions of mine and I occasionally play in a couple of bands.
Yoga and meditation have been an integral part of my own wellness for over 20 years. One thing I really love is encouraging someone to try something new like hiking or yoga and then watching them flourish and grow because of their innate passion and connection with themself upon trying this new activity. Meditation is a big learning process and I love helping guide people into believing and knowing they can do it and seeing how much it can affect their overall wellness. This is one of the reasons Spruce Adventures was birthed and I have loved sharing these fun and meaningful experiences with my business partners and our clients/adventurers!

I have always been drawn toward natural healing modalities. I became a mother at a young age and was inspired at that time to take the steps toward changing life for the better and I haven’t looked back since. Being a mother has guided me to the be the best I can be. In my early 20s, I was introduced to kombucha making, essential oils, and the beauty of clean living; Alternative Health. I came to see that what you feed your body and mind really do matter in the big picture. Focusing on living a balanced life of my body, mind, and spirit have guided me through life’s many ups and downs. I have kept a journal, been an avid athlete and practiced prayer and meditation for most of my life and in 2021 I began to incorporate consistent somatic healing practices into my daily routine like meditation, breathwork, and yoga. Practicing the habit of being present in every moment continues to be my path.
I spend my days tending to my home, dogs, garden, and family. I also work for an inspiring non-profit, run my own small business, and work to build beautiful adventures with our Spruce Tribe. I love going on outdoor adventures and I’m excited to take the years of experience I have to bring more health and wellness, adventure, and fun into the world around us. I hope to inspire community action, collaboration, and change for the better.

I discovered yoga in 2015 while residing in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Living far from home and away from family was the catalyst I needed to find and harness mindfulness in my day-to-day activities. Understanding that the practice of yoga was one that needed to be shared with the world, I decided to obtain a RYT 200-hour certification in 2018 through Sacred Roots Teacher Training in Reno, Nevada. In 2021, I obtained my certification in both Yin Yoga and Level 2 Reiki and am currently working on completing a 500-hour Pilates certification. As a perpetual student, I hope to one day obtain certification in Trauma Informed Yoga. Through my teacher training and years of experience since, I’ve learned how to translate the art of yoga for students of all walks of life by connecting history with the spirit, the breath, and physical movement.
I was raised by my father in the beautiful state of Kentucky and have lived all over the world with my little family and pets. I am an introverted extrovert with a passion for sitting on the couch with a good book and hanging out with my friends. Guiding people on how to both connect with others and slow down individually is my approach to all things in life. I work remotely for a non-profit health insurance company out of Reno, NV and teach yoga to members of our Southwest Missouri community and at a local middle school. When I’m not working healthcare compliance or hanging out on my mat, I love to read, stitch, hike, ride my Peloton, and dance in my kitchen.
